Excel Questions
Answers
If you refresh your pivot will the items that you moved stay in the same place or do you have to re-do each time you refresh?
Yes, if you are in the PivotTable and right mouse click. Go to PivotTable Options and make sure the Preserve cell formatting on update Check Box is checked. Here's the screenshot.
How do I make q1:  Feb/Mar/Apr ?
See the next answer.
How do you change the presentation of the pivotable if the year end is May and still present it by quarters?
If your fiscal year starts in April. July or October you can use the example that I show you in the webinar. For other months because there’s no built-in option to group pivot table dates by fiscal year, you’ll have to use a workaround solution. CLICK HERE to see the solution.
If I have a pivot table with 2 columns like MARCH and APRIL, how do I calculate a field to subtract APR less MAR to get a month over month difference for expenses with a new column? I can't seem to get it to work. Actually I think I figured it out by clicking on Calculated Item rather than Calculated Field. However, I guess there is a limit as I'm getting a message "There are too many records to complete this operation."
The secret is to add the value field again, then right click on the new field and select “Show Values As” and in the drop down list select “Difference From…”. In the Show Values As dialogue for the base field select the date field name and for base item select previous. You may want to hide any of the new columns that contain no values for presentation purposes.
Sage Questions
Answers
Is it imperative that one must do the migration from Sage 50 to Sage Accounting for all client accounts?  If so, is there a deadline that this must be done by?
Absolutely not. I would recommend to only move the ones who are a good fit for Sage Accounting. If you would like help determining that, we can have a Sage colleague reach out. There is no deadline for migration. You choose the products you use for your clients, and you use the timeline for migration (if any).
What if the balances don't match?
Anytime I have seen this, it has been a difference in reporting range when comparing both. Since the Sage 50 file remains intact you are able to re-try a migration if needed. If any transactions were blocked, you would have been notified.
Does Sage Accounting work on a MAC computer?
Absolutely. Since Sage Accounting is completely browser-based it works on any device through Chrome or Firefox, or through a mobile app.
