Can you use Excel and BI together? |
Certainly, the Power BI publisher for Excel will allow publishing of parts of Excel files to PowerBi.com. In addition, data in Power BI and Excel can be transferred between the two applications. |
How do you need to setup the tables in Excel? format, etc |
The command to Format as Table is on the home ribbon in the styles group. |
You said we can get this at the store do we get it free? |
Power BI desktop is free from the Microsoft store, Apple App store and Google Play. |
Does BI work with Excel for Mac 2016? |
The Power BI publisher for Excel is not available on the Mac version of Excel. The Power BI desktop app is not available on MacOS, however you can use the powerbi.microsoft.com website to create dashboards using any web browser. |
Just wondering where the Power BI data is hosted online? Is it in Canada or the US? |
When setting up a new account it will default to your country location, typically for Canada that means Toronto ON. |

When you import taxes from DtMax does it import all the years? |
You can import T1 and T2 DT Max files (T1 Tax Years from 2015 to current, T2 Tax Years from 2015 to current). |
Are Quebec returns included with all ProFile suites? |
When you purchase ProFile you have a few options: You can purchase the Federal Suite (T1, T2, T3, FX) or Quebec Suite (T1/TP1, T2, T3/TP646, FX/Q – which includes all Quebec components to all modules) or individual modules (Federal T1, T2, T3, FX or with Quebec included T1/TP1, T2, T3/TP646, FX/Q). |
What are fees for Cloud backup for ProFile? |
There are no extra fees for Cloud Backup. It is part of the software features when you purchase a ProFile License. |
For document imports what about documents other from CRA, such as RRSP contribution, health and dental receipts, etc. |
With CRA Data Import you will be able to import what is available from CRA. This link lists what those are. |
I was told that using the RC59 only gives you phone access - that you have to use the form from Represent a Client to get online access. Is this still the case with efiling the RC59? |
If you are referring to the T1 module then online access is not available for Trusts when using the RC59. And yes it would be best to use the T1013 for Online access for a Representative. And if you are referring to the T2 module then filing the RC59 gives the Representative online access. |
Can Profile T2 import data from Sage 50 or Sage online? |
As long as Sage 50 or Sage Online can export the GIFI file you can import into a T2 return in ProFile. |
